ive never understood the mentality of random people trying to do everything to save a major business that didnt even have good business practises. Because thats what blockbuster is- a major business that refused to evolve and better its business practises. Had exact same reaction to say, telltale games- i love story driven games and i had fun with telltale games, but they did exact same thing so many times its not even funny.

Watch the blockbuster episode of Last week tonight with John Oliver. He bought at the divorce auction of Russel Crowe the jockstrap from the movie Cindarella Man and donated it to the last blockbuster to help saving it. In return as revenge Russel opened in Australia a help center for koalas with chlamydia calling it the John Oliver Chlamydia Ward.

The "last" blockbuster is a single franchisee that was granted the ability to keep the branding and name after the bankruptcy and shut down of the larger business. It is more of a tourist spot than an actual video store, however, you CAN rent new movies from them. The bulk of their income comes from T-shirts and stuff. They are also becoming an Air BNB business for all stuff nostalgia. "The last Blockbuster on Earth has pivoted from a classic video store to a dream retreat for '90s nostalgia buffs in Bend, Oregon. The store will be listed on Airbnb for three one-night stays in September for an end-of-summer sleepover, the store announced in the press release Tuesday" Angry Video Game Nerd took a trip if you want to watch on Youtube.
